About us

Barn Nork in Whistler

After two years of preparation, a very long build with major renovations, a brand new kitchen install, a ton of hoops to jump through, months and months of waiting and several relocations to keep us afloat — oh ya, and all of it through a global pandemic! What a wild ride it's been, but all worth it! We celebrated our 4th year anniversary in April 2026. Crazy how the years are adding up!

Where our location has changed from the early days on the side of the road in beautiful Mount Currie, working out of a refurbished barn, our food and who we are has not! And our goal is still the same: to cook good food that makes you happy. That's it. What we do is basic, and honest. Our food is prepared with love, integrity and the highest quality ingredients we can possibly get our hands on. We care deeply about the food we feed you!

Many dishes have become a mainstay for our regulars and local guests. We encourage people to explore our food and try new things — but at the same time, take comfort in dishes that give you joy. Some would say “if it ain't broke, don't fix it”!

You'll see lots of the traditional Barn Nork usuals on our menu — Green Curry, Beef Massaman and of course Pad Thai, with an ever-changing weekly feature dish. With our growing love of ice cream we are experimenting, testing and tasting, to create a wide variety of classic flavours alongside a selection of Thai-inspired specialties 💛💚 We are learning that we reeeeeeaaaaalllly like making ice cream!

Our Riverside location is quite small with just five tables, as 75% of our restaurant is kitchen! We have very limited sit-down dining as we're more of a “Thai market / industrial kitchen sorta place”, primarily serving take-out. Our little joint really rocks, as we are blessed to be super busy (most of the time). We do our best to take as many orders as we can, without jeopardizing the quality and care of our food. We'd rather it take a bit more time, so it's 100% delicious!

Summer, the patio & the dogs

Summer months allow us to have access to more outdoor space. You can order take-out, grab a drink and sit on the patio. Plus lots of green space in the park to lay down a blanket and chill.

And dogs? Yes — dogs are allowed on the patio! Dogs are always welcome at Barn Nork. Our love of dogs is equal to, if not more than, our love of food… and we're not kidding! Other than food, dogs are our life ❤️

There are no bells and whistles at Barn Nork. We are casual, simple people, and our food is a reflection of what's in our heart. There are no deliberate fusion-style adjustments or modern-day twists incorporated into how we cook — it's just food from our perspective, based on what we love and what we grew up eating in Chiang Mai. It's also important to us that you are full at the end of your meal! Quality matters first, but quantity is also important. You will not leave hungry!

Nine-plus years ago when we started this adventure with fingers crossed, we never, ever, ever imagined we could be so lucky to end up here. Barn Nork is our dream come true. We know that sounds corny, but it really is the truth.

We hope you enjoy what we have built and what we have to offer. We are grateful beyond words ❤️
